Most of the sanctuary’s cats live in ... what else? ... a cat house. This 300 square foot building, called Hoedad’s House, was named for a very special cat Steve had found as a starving kitten while living overseas in Sri Lanka. Hoedad moved with Steve from South Asia to Seattle and eventually to Montana.

Hoedad’s House is heated and insulated and has windows on all four sides, so it is bright and sunny all year long. In winter months the cats follow the sun across the sky, moving from window to window to sun themselves on specially built cat perches that line the walls.

The cats also enjoy a large outdoor enclosure attached to the east side of the building. This enclosure lets them be completely outdoors in their “jungle” during the summer but safe at the same time.
