Turtle the blind cat and Mink the wobbly cat

Turtle is a sweet, blind tortoiseshell cat. Her buddy Mink has a neurological condition that makes him wobble and sway like he's had a few too many drinks.
Turtle and Mink came to us from the Heart of the Valley Humane Society in Bozeman, Montana. How they got here was a bit unusual.
We had agreed to take two other supposedly disabled cats from a lady in Texas, but it turned out they weren't disabled at all. We save our very limited space for truly disabled animals. So we worked out a ‘swap' with the Heart of the Valley shelter — we'd send them the two non-disabled cats and take Turtle and Mink, who had been there a long time.

At the last minute the owner in Texas decided to take her two cats back. We wanted to keep our end of the bargain, and told the shelter we'd still take Turtle and Mink.
Turtle is a total purr-machine. .. if you're within a foot of her, she'll start purring and won't stop until you leave. Mink is a real ham and likes to show off his wobbliness for visitors. He's often the first to meet people at the door, wobbling his way forward to greet them, and then loves to circle around their feet for attention.
So thanks to two ‘normal' cats in Texas, Turtle and Mink came to a place where they seem...well...perfectly normal. Just like everyone else here.
